Iphone MMS Virus? HELP!

I received a MMS today which was from my own number with just a full stop. This was followed by a SMS message, apparently from O2, which said they were unable to download the MMS. It then advised me to click on a link for the O2 website and told me to enter a code listed in the message. I deleted the message then received another SMS with a full stop, followed by another MMS, again apparently from O2 telling me to view their website and enter the code. I deleted both messages, put my phone on aeroplane mode and switched it off!!

I am a little afraid to turn it back on now. Has anyone else had this happen to them? Do you know if it is a virus, or is it the link which holds the virus? I am also a little confused at how I can receive a SMS from my own number.

Please help!!

Unless your phone was "hacked", the only thing that can be saved from any website directly to the iphone is a picture. Hacked phones, on the other hand, are vulnerable to being attacked. So, if your phone has the stock firmware on it, you have nothing to worry about, even if the site in question is fraudulent. Nothing can be installed or downloaded to your phone. As I said, you can save a picture, but that's it. If you go to a site & suspect it is fraudulent don't enter ANY personal information, if such is requested. In your case, why not call O2 customer service to verify the authenticity?
