Shake isn't designed for "normal" playback, so the play function just renders
the frames as fast as possible.
When you render out your result, you have the option of using a Cluster
to use all four cores. In normal playback, you only use one core.
The amount of blur makes a huge difference in processing time.
With a large enough blur amount, you can bring any computer to its knees. -
