magazines in iBook Store

Okay, I know that it has been asked where to find magazines and the answer is Zinio but has it been asked if the iBook store will ever offer magazine subscriptions? I feel like the zinio app is nice and being able to read them on my mac, pc, iPad, & iPhone may be nice too but I would love to see the iBook store act as one stop shop for all my literature needs. I know that I would certainly pay to recieve my magazines subscription though the iBook store.

Until something is officially announced anything is just speculation, but there were lots of reports of Apple and newspapers and magazines discussing options. A few magazines, such as Time and Popular Science, and newspapers such as USA Today and NY Times, are approaching this via apps.

Zinio? Awesome?

I think this is the worst app I have seen. The pages of magazines are out of focus while they load. It takes about 2 seconds for a page to load. What happens is this: you open a magazine, look at the screen, and try to focus on a blurry image or blurry text. Your eyes struggle for a couple of seconds, and it actually hurts. You repeat this every time you change the page. This is the most God awful reading application I have ever seen.

Just checked out the review for zinio on iTunes. 4 of every 10 people that rated the current version give it the lowest rating possible. I guess I'm not the only one who hates it, I'm just posting about it to an overly Apple enjoying group.
Thanks for the attack!

For the record:
40 percent of reviews for the current version give zinio 1 of 5 stars, and a huge 73 percent of reviews give it 3 or less stars.

Like I said. The app is awful.

I have been reading on Zinio for the past year on my PC. There is no noticeable wait for the page on Zinio/Windows. However, on my iPad there is the slight wait at times for the page to come into focus. This appears to be more of an iPad operating system delay, rather than that of Zinio. Perhaps in time Zinio will be able to optimize their product with the iPad OS.

I should have added that because of this thread, and the fact that it was free, I downloaded and only viewed the free sample articles. Haven't yet bought anything. What I see with a 5 or so freebie article is the same I can expect from a full 60 page magazine?

I subscribe to several magazines on my Kindle. I understand that they are limited by their lack of color. However, the iPad seems like the perfect format for magazines like "People", "Time", "Newsweek", etc. where color photos are an essential part of the enjoyment process. The iPad, on the other hand, with its high-def, color format appears to be a perfect format for such magazines. Why aren't they available through iTunes? Is Apple missing the boat on this income source or what is going on? I check at least weekly to see if they are available yet...
