HP printer trouble

Hi,
I have trouble using my HP printer with Snow Leopard. All documents and stuff come out to be not readable because it is too bright. The ink is new and the printer works on my old PC absolutely normal. I also tried to download the HP driver and utility tool. No difference. Does anyone has an idea?

I have a HP 6500 Wireless and it is configured to do 2-sided copies. I use Word for the Mac and I can't get any thing that will let me do the 2-sided - only odd and even sided. It also goes wireless for a bit then has to be plugged back in but otherwise it faxes, copies, and scans. So over all happy - but do want to do double sided. I have gone to web, downloaded driver and still not option in the print program. Request advise!
