Can we have a separate thread for shoulder/carry bag?

I'm looking to buy a shoulder bag. My goal is something minimal, thin and light. It can always fit inside a larger travel bag inside it's own case. I'm looking for something to carry it around from place to place when I am already at a destination.

I'm tempted by this:

Any experience with it? Padster looks great and so does Ristretto, but I think those are way roomier and so not what I'm after.

Ordered the Booq Taipan Shadow XS in black/orange for my (ordered but not yet received) 3G Ipad. It arrived Thursday and is a quite nice (but pricey) messenger-type bag. Lots of padding in the Ipad slot plus room for accessories in front pocket. Not bulky and doesn't look like an "Ipad" bag. I really like Crumpler bags for my camera equipment and this bag by Booq is similar but maybe even better quality.

+ for the SFBags offerings.

I ordered the iPad Exo Sleeve-case (vertical) with the Piggyback Mini. I also ordered the Muzetto Personal to put it in when I need to carry more. Apparently they're very popular. The Exo Sleeve won't ship until May 18; the Muzetto not until mid June. I'm willing to wait.

The Case Logic E-Sling looks interesting as a carry-all bag. I have different things to carry at different times so the Exo Sleeve fits the bill with the mini bag for most times; the Muzetto + the Exo Sleeve defintely for travel times.

Have you heard whether Oberon is coming out with an iPad case?

I sent them an email a couple of weeks ago and they indicated they were looking at doing one. They didn't give any indication of an eta but I would hope it would be in a month or so. They did the Kindle cases pretty quickly once they were out. I put my vote in for Ginko leaves. But let them know you are interested.

My Muzetto shipped yesterday so I should get it Monday (I'm across the bay from them).

I got the Booq as well. I really like it.

A few minor criticisms, the internal pockets are very tight. The little pockets that I thought would hold my digital camera snugly are too small to get it in so I have to drop it in the big space. The cover flap is kind of big and when you have it over your shoulder and are trying to access the inside of the bag it gets in the way a bit ... but, it also make a perfect easily accessible pocket to carry wallet or camera in as well. There is almost too much padding, the bag could be slightly less bulky, but one of the reasons I like it is that it is not very bulky to begin with.

The bag is well designed and well made, strong and really looks unlike a purse, it looks more like a satchel to me, a mail bag or something, more vertical than horizontal, and seems more stable to carry.

The iPad fits it beautifully, and I think anyone would be hard-pressed to find a better bag for an iPad.

I received my Muzetto bag on Monday and it's really great. I wanted something that could carry the iPad, wireless keyboard, camera connectors, stylus, headphone, etc. and an actual notepad (yes, I do still use paper and pen). It's very roomy without the wireless keyboard and a tight squeeze with it. Not painfully tight but very, very snug. I suspect some of that will ease as the leather lossens up a bit with use.

I got the 10" bag with the Flame accent. The leather is very supple, the fabric finishing really nice and the overall workmanship is really excellent. I'm a long time sewer so I've made a few bags in my time, although not with leather, and they do a great job. It's definitely pricey, but worth it for the quality and even the looks. I don't carry a purse or a briefcase anymore, haven't for years so if I'm going to carry a bag I want it to not only be "pretty" but exceptionally useful. I still have to carry something occasionally for my paperwork, but that's not very frequent so this bag works for what I carry now.

I'm using the Apple Case for the iPad vs. something bulkier. I haven't been carrying the charger with it in the bag since I've got one at home and one at the office. If you want to carry all the accessories with it, or the keyboard dock you might want to look at the next size up for the extra room.
