I posted scripts passing datas from a Numbers document to an other one.
The drawback is that the transfer isn't automatic. It requires an user action.
At this time, links between two Pages documents are available.
Merge from Numbers to Pages is available.
Maybe we will get links between Numbers documents.
If you really want that, ask Apple for that :
_Go to "Provide Numbers Feedback" in the "Numbers" menu_, describe what you wish.
Then, cross your fingers, and wait _at least_ for iWork'11 😉
From my point of view, as I already wrote several times, what would be fine is the delivery of a function SCRIPT (or CALLSCRIPT) allowing a cell to trigger a script passing it parameters like the MACRO function available in AppleWorks spreadsheets.
The main problem is that at this time, each change introduced somewhere in a Numbers document forces a recalculation of the entire document so, the script would be triggered after every keystroke which would be unusable.
AppleWorks code is more intelligent which recalculate only cells targetted by a modification.
