hi..i have a logo i want to import. the image is both a psd and tiff --and i have tried to import both versions- and the logo looks terrible. it is all anti-aliased and jagged and distorted looking. the logo is 300 dpi and the original looks pristine..perfect. what is going on? what is the best way to import onto the menu? what am i doing wrong? i have tried this multiple times, different file sizes, etc. all the same result. thanks.

In Photoshop, create a new file. When you do you can then go into the Presets and select the proper size (i.e., NTSC 720x480 4:3 or 16:9). Then add your logo and basically create the entire background for your menu in Photoshop. Export out a TIFF or PNG file and bring that into DVD SP.
DVD SP does a poor job of scaling images. That is why its best to create the entire thing in Photoshop at the correct size.
the photoshop file looks great---when i bring it in to DVD Studio Pro, it looks terreible. a bit pixelated, not sharp...both the picture and the logo. again, in photoshop it looks terrific.
i am not rescaling the image. i created it as you suggested except widescreen.
it is odd because if i drop the image (and combined logo) made in photoshop into the menu ..it looks fine 4:3 but it pixelated at 16:9..even though I am creating the original as 16:9 proportions.
In Photoshop CS3 at least, you go file/new/ and set the size to NTSC D1 widescreen as Shawn said. It will default to a 1.2 aspect ratio. You'll get the right size image, at 720x480, and this will go into DVDSP correctly.
