Update Prebinding

After updating to OS X 10.4, I ran my usual maintenance scripts & routines. I also tried updating the prebinding via the terminal, but instead of the mile long list of activity that normally ensues, all I got was about a 30 second delay and then the prompt line. Is this normal.

Also, could someone tell me the difference between the following two system log pruning commands:

a.) sudo periodic (daily, weekly, monthly)
b.) sudo /etc/(daily, weekly, monthly)

in your terminal use

man periodic
