ViewSonic VA912b not working with new MacBook Pro i7

Hi --

I just received my new MBP on Wednesday, along with it I purchased the Griffin Video Display Converter ( http://store.apple.com/us/product/TY600VC/A?fnode=MTY1NDA3Ng&mco=MTY4NzA5MDY) so I can use the computer with my ViewSonic VA912b 19" monitor w/ DVI at my desk, and my television w/ HDMI in the living room. I've plugged the monitor into the adapter and nothing is happening after hitting 'Detect Displays' in the Display menu. For the computer I had prior to this (2007 MBP), I had no problems hooking up this monitor and it would automatically find it. I looked through the user's guide and did some searching on the web and I'm finding nothing about this topic...does anyone have any insight into this?

Thanks in advance!

Kristina
