How do you jump to the top of the inbox in mail?

Keyboard shortcut that works in Mail 7.3 (OS X 10.9.4): press "fn" + "left arrow" keys - jump to top of inbox. And, fn+right arrow will jump you to bottom.
It works in portrait too. It's just that the black bar above is very thin.
You have to tap above the list of emails at the place about 1/4" to the right of the wifi icon and at the intersection of the blank black area to the right of the wifi icon and the gray border of the email app.
Was looking for this as well. Why did they make it start in the middle always. That's stupid.
