I have noticed that when playing movies purchased from itunes on my apple tv the video seems to stutter, particularly, for example, when the camera pans across the screen. The video doesn't stop and start, it just seems to "judder" as it moves - almost like it is skipping frames. These are movies stored on the Apple TV (not streamed from my mac). The ATV is connected to my tv with a HDMI cable. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Where are you located, it's possible you might have your output set at 50 Hz, itunes movies are encoded at 24 fps and on some tv sets might be best played at 60 Hz.
settings/Video & Audio/Resolution. 50Hz options are marked 60 Hz are unmarked. This is usually only a problem for users in PAL areas (europe for example) and doesn't affect all tv's, I have one from five tv's that require me to change resolution when watching purchased content (24 fps), I need to change it back watching PAL (25 fps) content though.
