While most of the door alarm systems that work in retail establishments works via magnetic sensors, some work differently. As asked earlier, is this one particular store, or a number of stores?
I have seen in a couple of stores in our area where these are present that the automobile key transmitters (fobs) that unlock the doors and trunk can set these off, depending on how they are carried. One in our local grocery store will go off if I'm holding it in my hand, but if I have it in my pants pocket it is alright. In cold weather, if I put the keys in my jacket pocket, it can also activate the alarm. It appears the closer it is to the actual sensor, the better the chance of it activating.
