how much does it cost to replace the glass on an iphone screen?

my friend dropped his iphone 3G and shatterd the screen beyond repair. he bought the new 3GS and gave the 3G to me. i would like to replace the screen, but i dont know how much it will cost. its not under warranty if it makes a difference. thanks in advance for your help. 🙂
