Hello everyone. I have a macbook and downloaded Quicktime 7.6.6 and i guess it is pro? anyways, the whole reason i upgraded was to get stills from my ipod video. used to work great, but now when i select Export: movie to picture
Use: photo- JPEG
and i save to desktop it is not usable in GIMP because i think it never made it a jpeg file and kept it to a .pct.... whatever that means.
anyway, it is like the program has reverted back to its original form before i upgraded and it is super frustrating.
please help someone!!

Macbook, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

The "Movie to Picture" option has always created a PCT file (original Apple default system image format) with or without user selectable compression. This has not changed. If you prefer to export a frame in a JPEG, TIFF, or PNG file format, then use the free MPEG Streamclip utility to export your movie frames.

Thanks Jon, that really helped me - for some reason QuickTime was putting a white border around my exported stills when I used Export Movie to Picture, but MPEG Streamclip works perfectly!
