Playlists sort order

Hi, I created a series of playlist for my movies related to release date:
- 1990-1999
- 1990
- 1991
- 1992
- ...
- 2000-2010
- 2000
- 2001
- 2002
- ...

They works well and appears on ATV as I typed it before.

Question: does exist a method to sort out the playlist and have them on ATV as follow ?
- 2000-2010
- 2000
- 2001
- ...
- 1990-1999
- 1990
- 1991
- ...

In other words: I'd like to have most recent playlists on top...

Thanks, Roberto.

I think I understand what you are looking for. The key to playlist ordering is to create the playlists and the order of their contents in the order you want before adding them to the tv. Unfortunately this can be a little hit and miss.

Since I'm not 100% sure about what you are trying to achieve may I suggest you try a little experimentation.

So you're telling me to create the playlists in the EXACTLY sort order I'll want it displayed on my ATV ?

I'm doing some tests but the playlists are ordered automatically on my iTunes:
- 1980-1989
- 1990-1999
- 2000-2010

I can't move them this way:
- 2000-2010
- 1990-1999
- 1980-1989

Does exist a hidden setting into iTunes ?

Thanks, Roberto.

I can't! Surely I'm doing something wrong!

Let me to explain better, my ATV is in streaming mode about iTunes movies.

I create some folders playlists and inside them I create some smart playlists:
1990-1999 (folder playlist)
- 1990 (smart playlist just to retrieve movies with that Release Date)
- 1991 (smart playlist just to retrieve movies with that Release Date)
- ...
2000-2010 (folder playlist)
- 2000 (smart playlist just to retrieve movies with that Release Date)
- 2001 (smart playlist just to retrieve movies with that Release Date)
- ...

Regardless the order of creation (first 1990-1999 or 2000-2010 folder playlists, the same about smart playlists) iTunes automatically sort as above and I can't change the sort order moving the items up-down.

If I right click on the playlist folder nor smart playlist I don't see the "Copy To Play Order" option.

Thanks, Roberto.

Hi, maybe I found out one solution to this "sort order" problem, maybe not so smart but it works!

I create the folders playlists as follow:
(A) 2010-2019
(B) 2000-2009
(C) 1990-1999
...

This way iTunes order it as above and I hit the point: from most recent to the oldest

Suggestions ? Any others ideas ?

Thanks, Roberto.
