Connecting my guitar to my IMAC?

Been reading this. Thought I'd confirm what I think I know (not much).

My intention is to record my guitar and bass guitar into GB by going through my +PreSonus Firebox+. Seems like that's the way to go. Am I right?

(Don't think I want to bring them in by recording from my amps. Seems like too much fiddling around...setting up mics in front of amp speakers, etc.)

Also, thought I saw something about bringing my guitar/bass guitar in as MIDI. Could be useful in some situations. Is that right?

Didn't know that was possible. Might be interested in that.

For recording projects, the interface is the way to go (I have a Firebox too, and I love it). You can even line-through the interface to retain your amp tone - just be sure to line out and not signal out.

Sorry, but I don't know anything about MIDI guitar/bass.
