Tracks/Regions won't change from piano roll editor..?

Tracks/Regions won't change from piano roll editor..?

When changing tracks the same track is sticking in the piano roll editor. I remember when first using Logic Pro 9, it would update in the piano roll editor everytime you change and highlight a new track or region. It's like the section is on some type of lock. Anyone know what it could be? Seems simple....

iMac G5 Logic Pro 9, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

One of the reasons can be that the "Link" Button is not enabled...

I think that was it. I was also trying to toggle audio and midi tracks. audio tracks don't run through the piano roll, thats just a MIDI thing if I remember correctly - I confused myself. But the link feature is something I have read over a few times it seems so simple but it still doesn't make sense to me. But it works now, thanks!
