MacBook long charger cord with iPad charger

Does anyone know if it's okay to use the extension cord that comes with MacBook pros on the iPad? If you're not familiar with what im talking about, if you look at the charger the plug pulls out. You can replace that with a longer cord. On the MBP it came with an extension. I'd like to use that with the iPad if it's not a problem.

Macbook Pro (Core Duo), Mac OS X (10.4.10)

Works fine :
The Longer part is the A/C cord that fits into the Power adapter. The Data cord seem the same length.

ONE thing to note is the Wall plug on these newer A/C cords are 3 prong that is it now has a ground. Most all wall power supplies are 2 prong in the US.

I fired up the volt meter and the ground wire actually connect to the round post in the power adapter.

Most of the Apple adapter I have the post is plastic BUT it is metal in the Ipad and I guess the same in the ipod/iphone adapters.
