Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Driver Needed for Tiger 10.4.3 installed G4 dual 1G DMM!

Does anyone happen to know any reliable source that I can find "high speed USB 2.0 Driver" for my Tiger 10.4.3 installed dual 1G MDD Power Mac?

I've just installed a Belkin 3 port Hi-Speed USB 2.0 PCI card into my 3-year old dual 1G Power Mac DMM, now it running at USB 1.1 Full Speed mode (about 12 MB/Sec.), however Belkin told me to download "third-party USB driver for Mac OS X" for operation in Hi-Speed USB 2.0 mode. So, please help me here!!

Thanks in advance.

Kevin

hi, nycoolfun:

it seems that after I updated my Tiger 10.4.3, the USB 2.0 driver issue was solved automatically, now it shows "USB high speed bus" at my system profiler's expansion slot, but I'm not sure whether this will going to work for your powerbook or not cause appearently you are now using 10.4.4 right?

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for the info. The hi speed bus does show up in my System Profiler, but does that necessarily mean the driver is installed? The reason I bought the Belkin USB2 was for the ipod video 60, since they no longer download with Firewire. It says on the ipod info that USB 1.1 doesn't supply enough power to charge the ipod. And wouldn't you know, both times I've been loading up the ipod, the battery hasn't charged. Luckily, I live in NYC so I can pop into the Apple store and get more info.

Thanks

Hi, nycoolfun:

I got the exactly the same reson as yours to purchase the Belkin USB 2 PCI card, I doubt that my current USB 2 is running at its full speed, however it's miles ahead faster than the stock USB 1.1 on my Power Mac.

When I first installed the USB 2, my system did not recognize it as high speed USB, after I tried several solutions to corret this, it finally works after I installed one of the Apple released updates, and shows correctly that there is an USB high speed bus at expansion slot and when my 60G iPod is connected to it, system profiler shows iPod under the USB high speed bus, and indicate that "Spped: up to 480 Mb/sec (=60MB/sec I believe.)

Well, that's all, good luck!!

Kevin
