ITunes download stuck on "computing space requirements"

I have tried to download the newest iTunes software, but during the iTunes and QuickTime download the setup freezes during the status "computing space requirements". I've uninstalled all components to iTunes, ran a ChkDsk, and cleared out a lot of unnecessary programs to try freeing up available disk space. There is plenty of memory left so that shouldn't be the problem. I've restarted the download several times and have waited a few hours to see if the download would make any progress with no avail so far.Any suggestions or tips?

Deepest Gratitude,
