bonjour services not connecting

I am trying to sync Things on my iphone with my Mac. I also tried to use Air Sharing to upload files to my iphone. In both cases I dont see the Bonjour services available on the iphone.

I used a tool called bonjour browser and it doesnt hint of anything on the iphone. Ive disabled the firewall on mac os. Any ideas??

Paul, Glad to help. It took me by surprise too.

If any iphone syncing or transferring fails, check out something similar in any network/firewall apps.

IF an iphone app is supposed to sync via bonjour, check the following:

[Ill refer to this link at Cultured code http://culturedcode.com/things/wiki/index.php/Resolvingnetwork_related_sync_issues_between_Mac_and_iPhone/iPod_touch%28FAQ%29

but basically:

There are many ways to find out if Bonjour is working on your network:

Try to find out if other Mac applications using Bonjour also have problems on that network -- such as iTunes music sharing or chatting via Bonjour in iChat (use the menu Window > Bonjour).

Try another iPhone application that uses Bonjour, such as Apple's Remote (free).

Another way to test this is to download and install Bonjour Browser (free) http://www.tildesoft.com/Programs.html .

Launch Bonjour Browser, and look for any services on your iphone to see if it sharing a service via bonjour.

Lastly check out http://developer.apple.com/networking/bonjour/faq.html
