WIfi conectivity problems

I'm loosing everytime connection from my wifi network. It works fine for about 15 minutes but then I have to turn off and on airport to regain real connection to internet, meanwhile showing a supposed connection.

At first I didnt have this problem; I had a seamless connection but recently getting frustating.

Do I need to change network settings? my router is working fine as usual with my other computers..
What are the chances that my wifi hardware is damaged or something?

Macbook Pro 2.26 GHz 13", Mac OS X (10.6.2)

I have a Mid 2010 15" MBP (Core i7) as does a colleague and we both have experienced the same symptoms as you. We can connect to our wireless access point and we are on the network fine for 10-15 minutes but then we can no longer access the network or ping any hosts. The connection to the AP appears to be fine when this happens (full bars in the Airport menu). Turning Airport off then back on again brings the connection back again.

Other devices and older MacBook Pros don't have this problem with our AP.

My computer does not exhibit this behavior on other wireless networks which makes me think that it may be some kind of incompatibility with our wireless access point. In our case we are using a Netgear WNDAP350 (firmware is current). If other people experiencing this problem can post their wireless access point models as well maybe we can narrow down the problem.

The last update firmware available is v4.03 of 2006 and I have it already. I don't think the problem is the firmware because my iPhone and my brother's computer doesn't lose connection as me. It wasn't a problem weeks ago. At first, my connection was smooth and constant but recently I can't be online for more than 10-15 minutes...

I was checking my router's wireless settings there are stuff I dont really know it might be the problem but for example,

Super G mode is on Super G without Turbo
Extended range mode is disabled
WMM function is disabled
802.11g only mode is disabled
SSID broadcast is enabled.

I dont't know; here might be the answer?

That is an older router, seemingly configured in your case to run with even older 802.11b networks , chris (which reviews suggest were poorly dealt with by it at the best of times!).

You should try selecting other channels on the router, just in case you are getting interference from external sources, and you might want to see if it works any better when set to operate in only 802.11g mode, rather than 802.11b/g (though your MBP is really best served by 802.11n, which didn't exist when your router was produced).

You might want to check out the router manufacturer's own forums and support boards to see if there are any hacks available to help it work more effectively with current hardware and software.

Cheers

Right now I'am as AirPort description (alt+click airport icon on menu bar)

PHY Mode: 802.11g
BSSID: 0:1b:11:73:3c:5e
Channel: 1 (2.4Ghz)
Security WPA personal
RSSI: -64
Transmite Rate:54

*About PHY mode, I didn't enable 802.11g only mode but its shows on this "PHY" that I am already?
*Channel is on auto-selecction and the range I got is from 1 to 11. To which number should I get it on.

I'm having the same problem here, using a D-Link AirPlus Xtreme G DI-624 Wireless Router with about the same settings as the original poster has. It's not limited to networking a macbook pro, however, as some of my devices keep losing connection after several minutes while others don't:

- MacBook Pro 2008 (losing connection)
- iPhone 2G (no problems at all)
- iPad (losing connection)
- PS3 (no problems at all)
- Airport Express (losing connection)

same intermittent wireless problem on my macbook pro i7 15".

Connects for a few minutes, then wireless indicator shows full strength but connection is dead. I have to Turn Airport Off, then On again to regain a working connection.

One thing I notice is, this only happens at my work, where we use a cisco? wireless router. At home, when I'm on my Airport Extreme-N, it works fine, never drops.
