Image engraving on an iPod touch

As a birthday gift, I want to buy my boyfriend an iPod Touch. Is it possible to order it with an image engraved on it's back? The image is pretty simple, it's a black and white cartoon. I would like the black lines to be the ones engraved. Can you tell me if the above is possible and if so: how can I order a custom image engraved? (The online store does not offer this feature.)

Though I understand the desire, I would not recommend that you spend the money to do that. Should the iPod ever suffer a hardware failure and need to be serviced by Apple, Apple will just replace the unit; they won't fix the one you had engraved. So the engraving would be lost and have to be redone.

I really would suggest you just get him the iPod and leave off the engraving. Perhaps you could find a company that could print/engrave your cartoon on a case for the iPod rather than on the iPod itself.

I'm in Montreal, Canada. I hoped the Apple store would provide this service, so I could of just order it already engraved...

Since it's a gift it does not matter to me to pay for that eventhow it might has to be redone later. I'm already aware that it ever the iPod has to be fixed, the engraving will have to be re-done.

the iTMS will not engrave images. you will have to outsource this job.
