iPad has stuck green pixels and called Apple about a solution.

I'm a little bewildered. I purchased the 3G 64 gig pad and noticed it has some stuck green pixels. I have check my local outlets and they don't have one. I was told to go to the genius bar none the less and get them to look at it. I work in IT and I know it's a display issue. Yet I'm becoming frustrated.

So here is my question. What solutions are there. Aside from going to the Apple store, went with my 1 year old son and the appointment was late and couldn't get service, shipping off to Apple and getting one that is worse? I'd like to do advanced replacement, but they want you to buy Apple Care to get this feature of which I buy new stuff every year and I don't need tech support.

I'm thinking about just returning it and being done as Apple was surprisingly rude and unhelpful. Very different from the company I've spent so much money with in the past. What happened to the Apple I loved?

Mac OS X (10.6.3), 17" MBP 2.93, 15" MBP 2.80, 2 24" ACD's, 2 1TB ATC's, 2.26 Mini, 2 3Gs iPhones

That's a good idea except iPad apps don't scale to the sides where the pixel is stuck. It stays black. Otherwise a good idea. I also don't want to go to the apple store again and run the risk of getting one that is worse and play the cat and mouse game of trying to locate one.

I just wonder why any other product I buy is always perfect on the displays and yet Apples always problematic. Very odd, especially when you think about how much we pay for these products.

No such display problem here - not with my G3 PowerBook, not with my TiBook, not with my 17" PowerBook, not with my 15" MBP purchased last summer, not with my original iPhone purchased nearly 3 years ago, and not with my 3G purchased two years ago this August.

I guess you are just unlucky in this regard since the other products you have purchased certainly have a failure rate as with all products.

If there is an Apple store nearby, I suggest making an appointment. If your iPad is exchanged under warranty, you can spend brief time at the store to see if there are any stuck pixels with the exchange. If some surface with the exchange, it is included with the same warranty.

They said they didn't have any in and I had to physically drive 30 minutes there because the phone isn't answered. It just rings endlessly. I purchased mine from best buy, and as we all know they get very little in restocking units. I may just return it. The apple support on the phone was no help either. I am giving serious thought to returning the device and rethinking my buying two new iPhones when apple updates them soon. If this is the mess I potentially could have to deal with then I'm out. I have always seen Apple as a high quality company who strives to make their customers happy. And while I am a single case, I have purchased 5 computers from them over the last year and a half. Plus I have gotten many of my friends to buy apple's because of my appreciation of their service.

Perhaps the company is changing internally as they get bigger. I hope not as this is the same attitude that drove me AWAY from microsoft. And this would truly be a shame. As I'm tired of running around I really am just seeking either an advanced replacement at this point or a refund. Apple doesn't want to do the advanced replacement because I didn't spend MORE money than the nearly $900 I've already spent on buying apple care when I in the past upgrade every year making that purchase worthless. And while less computer saavy people may need it, I don't need tech support either to work an iPad.
