Sorry, not sure where to post this. I have several iPods and they seem to be fine, but my Bose SoundDock (I have the first one they made) has stopped working. When I plug it into the wall, it simply emits a clicking sound through the speakers, about one per sound, endlessly. Plugging in any iPod does not charge them, nor do they play any music. The pulsating sound remains unchanged whether the iPod is in or out of the device.
There are only two buttons on the device - volume up and down. There is no power on switch or anything else. There is a remote, but that does nothing either.
It seems to be bricked, but I was just wondering if anyone has heard of this before or knows of any obvious solution. Thank you.
This fault is caused by the overcurrent on the power supply. There are several causes listed in order of likelyhood:
1. The power supply plug is inverted inthe back of teh unit.
2. The DC plwer plug is damaged (inspect carefully)
2. One of the rails on the Power supply has a cable short or a failed component inside the PSU. (New PSU required).
3. Drink spill or short on the docking board.
4. Power short on IPOD- firewire charge input. (try different IPOD).
I had this fault and had my Sounddock dock was repaired by www.invebo.com for £49 in shipping. They also upgraded it to charge my Iphone.
