Dymo 330 won't print

Hi:

I just bought an Airport Extreme and it generally works great. Now I'm trying to use the print sharing feature via the USB cable out the back of it. I have three printers connected via a powered USB splitter: an HP OfficeJet, a Brother LaserPrinter, and a Dymo 330 label printer. The first two work awesomely; however, I cannot get the Dymo to print.

I've downloaded the newest version of the Dymo software (old v 7.6.x, newest 8.2.2.1169). But when I launch either of these two Dymo applications, I get an error that reads "Alert. Application could not find supported printers. Please re-install your printer driver". However, the install process went well.

When I go to System Preferences>Print and Fax> and click the "+" sign, all 3 printers show up, with the Dymo listed as "DYMO DYM0007 and "Kind" as "Bonjour". Under Print Using it asks me to "Choose a Driver or Printer Model", and under "Auto Select" it says "Software for this printer isn't available from Apple. Contact the printer's manufacturer for the latest software" (which I thought I had just installed!). If I manually select software, an item entitled "Dymo Label Printer" shows up in the Printer Software list; if I select this, the "Add" button becomes functional, yet I cannot launch the Dymo application (due to the error above) to try and print.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Nice link; thank you.

Unfortunately, that did not do the trick. I think it is something unique to Dymo, since the other two printers work flawlessly. Unfortunately, Dymo's website does not allow one to ask a question- it keeps crashing (I guess that's a way to save on customer service costs!).

Thus, if anyone else has had the same issue with the Dymo and can steer us to a solution, it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

I assume you've downloaded Dymo's software from this site:

http://global.dymo.com/enAU/ProductSoftware/LabelWriter330Turbo.html

Their support page seems a bit dated:

• What's new
– MAC OS 10.3 Panther is now supported

It is possible you might be able to use a driver from the Linux Foundation's Open Printing project. The Dymo model you mention is not specifically available, but perhaps one of the others may work - the last one called "turbo" might be worth a try!
