Airline power adapter

I'm traveling to Europe this summer and plan on only taking my new iPad. I can't seem to find what power adapter to use for an Empower source provided on the airliner.

MacBook Pro 15", Mac OS X (10.5.4)

EmPower is different from other airline charging systems....

You will need an iPhone car charger (any of them will do) and this adapter:
http://www.magellans.com/store/AdaptorPlugs___Converters___Airline_PowerAdaptorsEA270?Args=&customField1=W9

The two together will do what you want.

FOR THE RECORD -- you can not CHARGE an iphone or macbook or iPhone or anything else while you are in flight. You can MAINTAIN your charge available by using the adapter/charger, but it will not increase the charge in your equipment. But at least you won't be wasting your charge.

now -- that being said --- why would you want a charger for your flight? The iPad power lasts longer than you will be able to keep your eyes on it without them blurring during your flight. Charge before you go. Charge when you get to your destination.

For what it's worth, my experience was a little different. I purchased the referenced EmPower adapter from Magellans prior to a trip to Germany a couple of weeks ago. When I departed Frankfurt last Friday I had not charged my iPad since the previous day. When I boarded the plane (a United 777) from Frankfurt to Dulles, my iPad was indicating an 82% charge. I plugged it into my seat with the EmPower adapter I had purchased and used it continuously for the approximately 8-1/2 hour flight. I watched several movies, listened to tunes and read part of an e-book. When I arrived at Dulles, my iPad was indicating a 100% charge. At least in my case, my iPad DID charge while I was in flight using the EmPower adapter/outlet, even while I was using it.

???

How would it "MAINTAIN" the charge without putting power into it, ie. charging it?

So you have a full charge when you get to your destination.
