Mini Displayport to D-Sub (15 pin male needed)

I would like to connect my MBP to an older monitor that has a 15 pin female D-Sub connection. I've been told by Samsung that it's not VGA or DVI. I've been searching but cannot find such a cable. Does such a cable exist, or adapters?
Thanks.

15-pin D-sub is VGA as far as I know (but will stand corrected if somebody here knows better)

I think if you have a mini-display port to VGA adapter then a cable like this it would work

As Michael says , "D-Sub" 15 pin ports are almost always simply VGA ports when found on monitors. It is possible that Samsung may have configured things differently, but this would mean, for example, that the monitor wouldn't have been useable with the vast numbers of PCs out there that relied on VGA output. THis seems highly unlikely.

The minidisplay port to VGA adaptor, coupled with a regular VGA cable, should do the job for you.

Cheers
