OSX 10.5.8- Stuck at blue screen during startup

After the Apple logo appears the screen goes to blue and stays there. I am also running BootCamp and can access Windows with out any problem, but I cannot get to the login screen for OSX. I have already reset my PRAM, reset my SMC, removed all ApplicationEnhancement files (I actually didn't have any), and started up in Target Mode from another computer and done a disc repair. I can access all files in Target mode without a problem. I have not archived and tried re-installing Leopard, I'd like to try and avoid this. I am also using a third party internal hard drive, but only for storage, this is not my startup disc. Does anyone know any way I can fix this?

MacPro, Mac OS X (10.5.8)
