iTunes Registry Error

Few days ago every time I load iTunes I get an iTunes Setup Assistant message saying:
Warning!
The registry setting used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CD's and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes.

Think I have tried everything from, repairing iTunes, reinstalling, reinstalling and deleting the old library, and yet the message still persists.

Any other ideas?

I just started having exactly the same issue.
I went through the whole routine of uninstalling every Apple application and then installing iTunes again. I'd also prior to this logged on as a guest without admin rights and got the same error.
I looked in the registry as indicated by that link. I don't have either Lower or Upper filters.
The app was running well for 6 months, but yesterday I discovered that my PC (windows7) had a corrupted CD/DVD Driver, so I have to uninstall then reinstall the hardware using Device Manager. Its since then that iTunes had this issue.

any more ideas?
