What does the SFLIcontool do?

Hi, this morning I found my Mac Pro unresponsive, and with constant disk activity. 'Data read' averaged at about 5 MB/s, 'Data written' was negligible.

I was able to (force)quit applications via Activity Monitor one by one with no success of rendering the Mac more responsive.

I then looked for processes that didn't look familiar, and I found three processes named "SFLIcontool". This Unix Executable File is located in /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/OSServi ces.framework/Versions/A/Support.

When I quit the SFLIcontool processes, Disk Activity stopped immediately. However, the unresponsiveness of the machine remained. I forced a shut down and rebooted, and the computer was working with no problems again. Anyway, I would like to know what was going on. What is SFLIcontool usually doing? Anyone any ideas?

Thanks.
