how to transfer purchased movie on ipad back to my computer's itunes

i am doing my first sync and want to put movies from my computer onto my ipad but it says it will erase the movies on them and replace them with movies on my mac. how do i get my ipad purchases onto my computer so i can do a sync? thanks for the help!!

imac, Mac OS X (10.5.8), iPad wifi 3g, iphone 3g, macbook pro, imac

With your iPad connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPad.

After doing this, leave Sync Movies selected under the Movies tab for your iPad sync preferences with iTunes with the movies selected below that you want available on your iPad. After purchasing/downloading a movie from the iTunes store on your iPad, the movie should be copied to your iTunes library the first time you sync your iPad with iTunes after doing so.

The same applies to purchasing music and/or 3rd party apps with your iPad.

Perfect! Been looking for this solution to transfer my "Lost" seasons to my computer after purchasing on the iPad. Worked flawlessly.

I seem to have a similar problem. I can synch movies rented in iTunes on my PC to my iPad without a problem. I can't seem to synch movies purchased in iTunes on my PC to my iPad. Any idea how that might work?

PS: It's not done via iTunes, it's done outside of it e.g. on a Mac via iPhoto, Aperture or Image Capture

You can use a call MobiKin Assistant for iOS software to help you transfer purchased movie on ipad back to my computer's itunes. You can google it. Believe it can help you solve your question quickly. Hope this helps!
