Renaming iPhone in iTunes

Heello folks,

how do I rename my iPhone in iTunes so when I backup more than one device I can know which file is which?

Currently it's just called 'iPhone'. I'd like to call it something like xxxxxxx iPhone.

Connect the phone to iTunes, click on the word "iPhone" in the devices list and type what you want.

I was reading your reply to a user on the support forum about renaming the iphone using itunes however the procedure you outlined doesn't work in v9.2 of itunes. When I click on it all I can do is view some info about the phone. No way to change the name. Any suggestions?

Hi,

How do i rename my iPhone in iTunes 10?
i have a new iPhone 4 and my iPhone 3GS has the name "xxx 3GS".
now i have used a backup to have the same data on the new iPhone 4 which has now the name "xxx 3GS" 😟
