Kernel Panic every few days

I get a kernel panic every few days where I have to restart the intel iMac. This is not the end of the world, but it is very irritating.

On advice of Store Geniuses I have restored the iMac from the Time Capsule a few days ago, but the same behaviour carries on, and I have had two panics in four days. Plus ca change.

So what do I do? Is there a bigger 'reinstall' than I have done? How much 'clean installing' does 'restore' do? Is it enough?

Or is there some genius out there that understands what "thread_invoke: preemption_level -1, possible cause: unlocking an unlocked mutex or spinlock"@/ actually means, as that is what the panic message always says!

I attach the whole message below, for your delectation. Consider it a challenge!

Regards,

David

The panic originated from com.bluecoat.kext, so whatever you've installed that installed that kext, this is the source of the posted kernel panic.

Boot into safe mode to see if this eliminates the panics - restart the computer and immediately after the chime press and hold down the SHIFT key until the spinning gear appears below the Apple logo.
