Q: Security code is invalid. iTunes for iTouch.

Due to an issue with my computer, I am forced to buy my songs from my iPod Touch. But when I try to purchase new songs, I get a message saying I need to enter my billing info and it takes me to a screen that says I need to insert my security code, and when I do, it says the number I put in is invalid.

...And I've heard that in Canada, using the itunes cards won't work for apps, just for music. Can this process be made more difficult??

It seems to be an issue with cards that are debit/credit. I was able to resolve mine by logging onto my account on itunes on my computer, and re-entering all my credit card information.

When it ask you for your security code, re-enter your province (for canada) at the same time, select it from the drop down menu... It works every time for me so far

Check your credit card expiration date. It could be that your credit card was re-issued and given a new expiration date.

I just got an iPad today and can't download any FREE apps. It keeps saying credit card can't be processed at this time. All my credit card info is up to date in my account.

But, Why does this even matter though if the apps are FREE?

Same problem as everyone on this **** thread. I only have 10 dollars right now so I'm purposely downloading (or was trying to download) ONLY free apps.

This is stupid. I figured I'd just clear my card info and it would let me donlaod free apps. But I was wrong. Why does it do the same process for free apps. Why do I even need credit card info entered or billing info FOR FREE APPS?! IT'S SO UNECCESSARY. SO POINTLESS AND UNNECCESSARY.

I honestly can't even begin to fathom why their system is like this. It makes no sense.

It's too late to do anything except be passed around like a doobie through a thousand customer service people either via my credit card company or apple care. I've entered the security code about 50 times so it's proably locked, and I've done it through my phone and a computer. I've also re-entered my debit card and billing info over 10 times. I've pretty much screwed myself. I did everything I read I shouldn't do (based on someone's post who said they'd researched it a bit).

I'll just have to wait till my paycheck comes in. To download a FREE app. -_-
What's funny is I didn't even want this iPhone from the beginning. I was settling because AT&T didn't have the phone I really wanted.

This really needs to be fixed, and I don't mean fix the programming, but fix the entire process for good. Apple needs to accept "blank" card info, fix the free app process, or at the very least be more flexible with cards (debit, checkings/savings, etc). I am NOT getting a different kind of card altogether just for the not-that-amazing convenience of having Facebook on my iPhone.

3GS user and I just got the iHome as a gift for use with it. I've known about the security code issue but was even willing to patiently wait for the update that will fix the bug. The iPhone, however, is incompatible with the iHome's primary functions (music playing, alarm co-functioning with the phone's apps) without the download of the iHome + Sleep app from the store (a free download).

Now I have an iPhone that can't download apps and an all-but-useless iHome that is nothing more than a glorified charger that doubles as a clock.

FIX THIS APPLE, OR POST A SOLUTION.

    Thanks.

    So,
*I looked at my credit card again, and the 3 digit code is THERE but it was rubbed off.*
*I looked at an angle and found the three digits on the card. It is not visible at first glance,*
*but it should be there. Mine was completely rubbed out. I put it in and it worked perfectly.*
*It is after the 4 digit number on the back of the credit card you are using**

Same stupid problem here. Have only had my iPhone 4 for three weeks. Have a valid MasterCard and have been using it just fine since day one. All of a sudden, I can't download any apps, free or otherwise. Don't have the option to "delete" my cc info...I HAVE to select something. ("none" isn't an option) wary of even calling Apple, based on the comments here. The really stupid part? My husband has hid own Apple acct, with the SAME card # & security code, and his is fine. *** Apple? Get your **** together.

alright folks. so if you go into your itunes account payment info and click none by the credit cards you will be able to download free apps, however if you want to make a purchase, you will have to buy itune cards now. maybe the android market isn't looking too bad?
