Wacom Bamboo Drawing Tablet... Okay on Macbook Pro?

I am an aspiring graphic artist, and I recently began looking into what type of drawing tablet I should get. After some research, I have decided to get a Wacom Bamboo - Pen tablet, but I was wondering... Under the tablet's hardware requirements it lists "powered USB port." Do old-ish(2007) MacBook Pros have a powered USB port that could be used for the tablet?

17" MacBook Pro, 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM, Mac OS X (10.5.8), Running Adobe CS3 and iWork 2008

HI,

If this helps, I've had my Wacom Intuos tablet for 5 yrs. Ran off my iBookG4, the PBookG4, and runs off my Intel iMac (2008) with no problem.

Yes.

When you attach a Wacom tablet to a Mac you then open System Preferences and select the Ink icon. User uploaded file

You can set your tablet prefs from there.

Wacom has top rate support on their site if you need help.
