    is it possible to reset the digital signature policy after uninstalling power plan?

  • FrederiQ Level 1 Level 1 (5 points)

    @Vlad: Would it be possible to make the left edge gesture scroll through the modern apps screens, not just show the switcher? There's such Windows native setting but if has no effect, probably because Trackpad uses 2 fingers at the edge. Would be superb if you could make this action configurable by user. Thanks again for making Windows 8 usable for us Bootcampers!!! Cheers!

    @Frederiq: I have already tested this as a possible enhancement, but because it's just the programmatic action there no 'visual sync' between the edge swipe and app screen change (unlike on a touch screen).

    @rush.i: Yes.

    Vlad, did you see my last comment?

  • V-l-a-d-i-m-i-r Level 1 Level 1 (10 points)

    @timelover: Since horizontal scroll works for me, it is time to investigate on your computer. Please try http://powerplan7.com/ScrollableThing.exe - does it scroll horizontally? If you have mouse with tiltable wheel, please try with it as well.

  • timelover Level 1 Level 1 (0 points)

    Yes Vlad. That scroll thingy does indeed accept scrolling in both directions!

    However, if I narrow this google chrome windows Im typing in right now, until the side scroll bar shows up, I can't horizontal scroll. Even with respect focus on.

    ps: Test was done with the trackpad. Since it worked I didn't try with a mouse.

    @timelover: Then, undoubtedly, Trackpad++ horizontal scroll is functional. The Trackpad++ kernel space device driver sends the standard horizontal scroll signals, and properly written user space application shall accept it. Like my test thing does. So the defect is in Chrome, and there is nothing I can do to support it better. To restate, Trackpad++ simply sends MOUSE_HWHEEL signal, strictly as defined by Microsoft, e.g. see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ms645614%28v=vs.85%29.as px

    @ALL: Important - after being applied, the recent Windows 8.1 update # KB2962409 will require you to set the 'Respect Focus' option to 'Enabled' from the Trackpad++ Control Module in order to make the trackpad scrolling engine work as expected. Note: this is required only when operating at Retina resolution with DPI scaling 150% or 200%. Note: this has nothing to do with previous discussion regarding horizontal scroll; it's something new, actually. Without this option, only the top left quarter of the screen is scrollable! Anyways, the workaround is very simple, just set that checkbox and click 'Apply&Save'.

    Sorry if this is out of place, but I can't seem to find a version of powerplan assistant that is malware free. For example: Power_Plan_Assistant_31c_Setup_06122014.exe tests positive for Win32/OpenCandy, Trojan.Win32.OpenCandy.cuxjkl at virustotal. The trackpad application seems to check out OK. I downloaded these from the sites recommended based on the trackpad ++ site.

    @Scott98981: Thank you very much for reporting. I just personally checked the Power Plan Assistant installer (the file directly from official mirror at FileCluster) with the VirusTotal.com service.

    It is reported to be 100% CLEAN by:

    AVG, Ad-Aware, AegisLab, Agnitum, AhnLab-V3, AntiVir, Antiy-AVL, Avast, Baidu-International, BitDefender, Bkav, ByteHero, CAT-QuickHeal, CMC, ClamAV, Commtouch, Comodo, DrWeb, Emsisoft, F-Prot, F-Secure, Fortinet, GData, Ikarus, Jiangmin, K7AntiVirus, K7GW, Kaspersky, Kingsoft, Malwarebytes, McAfee, McAfee-GW-Edition, MicroWorld-eScan, Microsoft, Norman, Panda, Qihoo-360, Rising, SUPERAntiSpyware, Sophos, Symantec, Tencent, TheHacker, TotalDefense, TrendMicro, VBA32, VIPRE, ViRobot, Zillya, Zoner, nProtect.

    In the above list there are all the best antiviruses in the world, such as Comodo, Dr.Web, Kaspersky, McAfee, Panda, Sophos, Symantec, TrendMicro, etc. All of them report the file is 100% CLEAN.

    If 51 antivirus products (including these world's most trusted!) all think the file is 100% CLEAN, then it is definitely clean. This is IMHO the goal and the power of the VirusTotal check, I mean an ability to easily filter out false positives.

    Thanks again, and I would recommend all the people to always check the files they install with VirusTotal, as it is much better than a single antivirus product installed on your computer.

    OK, but ESET and TrendMicro are also highly respected A-V houses, so it's difficult to ignore their findings. I'm not really familiar with NANO. It's not at all unusual to see known malware detected by only one scanner. And the other thing is that VT will provide samples to all 51 of those other companies to decide for themselves if it should be detected or not, so don't be surprised if it tests positive with several more scanners in a few days.

    So If I were you I would spend some time convincing those three that it's a false positive.

    @MadMacs0: Thank you for commenting. Just wanted to add, this is how it's being detected by ESET since 2010. TrendMicro and NANO since 2013. So while in general this does work as you described (a few days), in our case for the vendors it took more than 3 years to have 2 more. This is in fact 'documented' - kind of - I mean if you walk through this topic (started in 2010!) you would see such discussion already took place a few times.

    Thank you for suggesting, actually I have already tried to reach them - with no response for months and years. I understand, the fact that 'only' 51 of 54 AV vendors confirm the file is 100% clean may or may not be sufficient for a specific user. That's why many times right in this topic I have recommended people to check with VirusTotal and decide.

    Thanks for the quick comeback. I'm primarily associated with ClamAV® and spend a significant amount of time trying to prevent FP's on the OS X side of their house, which is how I came to know VT and it's habits. Fortunately they have a mailing list where I can bug them until they get it right.

    This week's update is not working!! After I install, the same message that my driver expired comes. Help!

  • pratnala Level 1 Level 1 (5 points)

    Vlad, correct this please.

    I downloaded this week's Trackpad++ (Trackpad_Plus_Plus_Driver_Control_Module_Setup_30b_06262014.exe) and I see this after installing.
