    WOWWW!!!! \o/

    Thanks for all your awesome work, Vladimir. <3

    @Vladimir, don't know whether or not you're aware of an issue with PPA, but it does not save the system volume level when PPA exits... My volume is always muted when PPA starts up. Have a Macbook Pro early 2011, whether or not that makes a difference, I don't think it does.

    BTW, I will donate as soon as I get paid, promise. Thanks for your hard work and patience.

    @Vladimir, looks like your site is down.  Any ETA for it to be back up?  I'm hoping to download Trackpad ++ ASAP!

    @bb426

    I don't believe that's an issue with PPA. It's a problem with the audio drivers. Unfortunately, as hard as it is to believe, the ones that Apple provides are actually the most up to date, and I've been unsuccessful at finding older revisions.

    There is a workaround, however.

    1) Go into the Windows control panel and select sound.

    2) Highlight "Speakers" in the playback tab and select "Properties"

    3) Click the Enhancements tab and check the box that says, "Disable all enhancements"

    4) Hit Apply, reboot, and your system you start up with the sound no longer muted.

    I honestly do not hear any difference between having the enhancements on or off, so I would personally call it a solution more than a workaround.

    @saturnotacu,

    I was going through my entire original response thinking in my head that I was responding to Vladimir, huge apologies! Hahaha.

    I have been looking for the past 6 months or so for newer drivers including the cirrus drivers, and have not found anything either. I hated using the slightly crippled and outdated drivers Apple supplied, since I am using W8. I am still trying to figure out the intel drivers. 13.2 beta AMD drivers brings BSOD's (It appears to detect and install the incorrect driver), but 13.1 works perfectly.

    Anyhow, the disable all enhancements solution works well, thanks! I used bass booster at one point just for headphones, but for some reason, it had apparently randomly shut itself off at some point.

    Another issue I'm seeing is that for some reason, after bringing the MBP out of sleep in W8, Bootcamp sometimes quits, and none of the function buttons work unless I restart PPA. Wondering if this has been noticed by anybody as well.

  • V-l-a-d-i-m-i-r Level 1 Level 1 (10 points)

    Hey, now you get the chance to respond to me.

    I confirm, this is 100% not a Power Plan Assistant issue.

    Good to know yet another bug in Boot Camp can be workaround that easily.

    Never heard about the issue with exit from sleep. But it's also not in PPA. I ensure you, it's yet another 'sweet Boot Camp glitch' from Apple.

    By the way: I am going to make the next Trackpad++ public within maximum 7 days. The current status is, dragging with 3 fingers in W7/W8 Boot Camp is 80% usable. Get ready!

    Cheers,

    Vladimir

    Hahah perfect timing! I am getting paid in 4 days. This release date you could see a little bonus in your inbox

    Oh and trust me, I totally believe you about the "sweet Boot Camp glitch". Just little things I see every once in a while, even before I was using PPA, I blame on BC easily. I just can't believe they'd drag the updates out for this long. Although, you probably aren't too keen on them updating BC immediately, because that could mean yet another change needed on PPA/TP++ if something breaks.

    Building the forum anxiety Vladimir... Keep up the great work, none of us can wait.

    Btw, If you release any betas... I would be willing to test. Will keep an eye on site in meantime.

    @Community:

    Alright, it's time! ALPHA program is open!

    If you would like to try the ALPHA version of the 'Trackpad++ Next', please write me an email message. I will send you this ALPHA. Please do not forget to write me what is the generation of your Macbook, do you have Pro or Air or Retina. What else... Ah, do you run Windows 7 or 8, 32-bit or 64-bit. And the version of the Boot Camp, please (if you know it).

    Please realize, I may not respond to everyone, no bad feelings, OK? Also, *do not* try this version if you operate nuclear plant from this computer. Because, it's A-L-P-H-A. Very usable, but no guarantees at all.

    ALPHA has the same OS and hardware compatibility as the previous (current) public build. 3-FINGER DRAGGING IS ADDED. Most of the gestures rearranged (because 3-finger space is now used for dragging). Finally, a few gestures are gone - for the same reason.

    Here is the full list of the multitouch gestures available in ALPHA:

    Windows 8:

    1.) Horizontal 2-finger swiping to the left from outside the right edge (action: show/hide Charms Bar).

    2.) Horizontal 2-finger swiping to the right from outside the left edge (action: show/hide Metro Switcher if at least 1 Metro app is running).

    3.) Horizontal 4-finger swiping (action: back / forward);

    4.) Vertical 4-finger swiping (action: minimize/restore open windows).

    5.) 4-finger tap (action: middle mouse button).

    6.) 3-finger dragging.

    Windows 7:

    1.) Horizontal 4-finger swiping (action: back / forward);

    2.) Vertical 4-finger swiping (action: show desktop / Windows Flip3D);

    3.) 4-finger tap (action: middle mouse button);

    4.) 3-finger dragging.

    VLADIMIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where is the zoom function?? Please, don't remove zoom. Or atleast give a choice. Either 3 finger zoom or 4 finger zoom. Please please please please please.

    Don't remove 3/4 finger zoom till you can implement pinch to zoom. Please!!

  • bb426 Level 1 Level 1 (75 points)

    @vladimir I think that until a better zoom function comes around, the three/four finger up/down for zoom should still be around in the final version, but three finger drag cannot be enabled at the same time (if three finger zoom enabled). Probably the best implementation for now I would say, to keep people happy

    Zoom in Windows in general is crap anyways, I'm not bout to worry about it lol.

  • pratnala Level 1 Level 1 (5 points)

    4-finger zoom

    @Pratnala, @All: Do not worry, the choice will be given. Just in a different meaning. During the installation you will be able to choose what set of gestures to use. The public build (which should arrive on presumably Wednesday) will be using such an approach. But in the future versions I hope to introduce the better mechanism.

  • V-l-a-d-i-m-i-r Level 1 Level 1 (10 points)

    Dear All,

    A new version of the Trackpad++ driver is out, You can download it normally now.

    Highlights:

    - 3-FINGER DRAGGING ADDED, as well as the new (related) configuration options;

    - Back/forward gestures and middle-click emulation moved to 4-finger space;

    - [Windows 8 only] Edge-gestures reliability raised, it shall be literally 99.999% now;

    - Improved behavior when you choose to disable scrolling acceleration;

    - Other (minor) bug fixes.

    Removed:

    - 1-finger dragging (but classic 'click + 2 fingers' dragging remains and works perfectly);

    - 3-finger zoom (but hold on, there exist at least 3 workarounds for zoomimg!)

    The workarounds:

    a) You can hold Ctrl and move 2 fingers up/down (cons: requires 2 hands);

    b) You can install old set of gestures (2.3d), this option is now given during the setup (cons: no 3-finger dragging when using the old gesture set);

    c) [Windows 8 only] You can write me an email and I'll give you a trick for replacing vertical 4-finger gesture with zoom in/out. Later I'll explain why no details there.

    Cheers,

    Vladimir

    @V-l-a-d-i-m-i-r: Wow, just wow!!! Finally my trackpad is working the way it always should. I love the 3-finger drag as you, not Apple, made it! So good you gave us the option to disable that delay after lifting the fingers! Too sad it can't be removed in OSX. I'm just the happy man now!!! I-LAV-U Vladimir!!! J
