"Reply All" Includes Me?

I had a problem with PUSH killing my battery. An Apple Genius said that it could be because of the Exchange server, and that I should delete the Exchange account on my iPhone and leave it off for 48 hours. I re-added the account 48 hours later, and the battery issue is gone. But...

When I use "Reply All" on messages with the Exchange account, I am also included in the list, getting a copy of my own response in my Inbox.

I certainly don't have anything set for blind cc or the like, and can find no related setting. All I did was add the account back the way I have half a dozen times on various devices.

Any help?

Check the mail settings and see if you have "Always Bcc Myself" turned on. If you go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendar and scroll down a bit on the page is that setting.

I agree that reply to all should not include you, however I don't have a mail to check right now, so I cannot say it will or won't do it on my phone.

No, it's not.

This is not how the account used to behave, or has behaved since the inclusion of Exchange support on iPhones. This is not how it behaves on other devices. This is now how the desktop Mail or Outlook behaves. "Reply All" should acknowledge the original sender and all other recipients; it should not also include myself unless I was somehow included twice in the original message. I have deep records of e-mails sent from my iPhone replying to multiple users without my address included. These records then show my being included in responses starting on Tuesday, when I re-added the Exchange account.

Anyone have any suggestions?

This option is definitely turned off. I do actually show up as a "cc" on the list. I can select my own name and delete it if I want to, I just shouldn't have to do this (and never have before).

As I said earlier, that isn't the way I would expect it to act either. I'll try and see if I get an email tomorrow that contains several people and see how it acts for me and I'll post my results. There may be some others however, that have either experienced this before or can say that it has not happened to them.

This solution is correct. I had the same issue. I knew that our company had a default format using capital letters on names (John.Doe@company.com). I went in and changed my account settings, and that caused the iPhone to resync. Then I tried to reply all. And I was no longer in the list. If people have sent emails to any of my aliases (lowercase-john.doe@company.com for example) then I will be included in the Reply All.

OK I think I got it:

Your address in Mail (Prefs - Account) should be EXACTLY how it is on your mail provider account. PLEASE NOT this is case sensitive.

Eg John.Smith@ABC.com at my mail provider should be listed in your mail prefs as

John.Smith@ABC.com NOT john.smith@abc.com

This is why you get copied on a reply all.

I have this same problem. The "Always Bcc me" function is off, but I still get copied when I Reply to All. Help!
