Volume Button Acting like Power Button! Help!

For some reason, my iTouch volume buttons randomly decided to become a power button. Whenever I press a volume button, it turns off. It even gets the power off slide if I hold it long enough! It won't change the volume right either. Can somebody please help?

I am having the same issue. If anyone has a fix to this i would appreciate it. I have tried resetting and removing all data from the iPod but it did not work.

I am no expert but that really seems like it would be more of a hardware issue than a software issue. Something wired wrong etc. Thats the only thing I would think could cause that to happen.
