Behringer Xenyx X2222 USB volume too low
Hope someone can help with this. I have Macbook Pro 17" Core i7, 10.6.3, GarageBand '09 v5.1 (398) and want to use GarageBand to record from my Behringer X2222 USB mixer.
I have been using the mixing board for quite some time and it works flawlessly. But when I connect it to Macbook Pro, GarageBand doesn't pick up the input because the volume level is too low. Also, when I use the board to play back from GarageBand, I can barely hear the output. Unplug the USB cable and the output switches back to internal speakers and volume is fine. Plug USB back in, System Preferences -> Sound -> reselect "USB Codec" as both my input and output and dial the volume as high as I can and I can still barely hear the output, even with Main Mix settings maxed out on mixer board.
Behringer board claims to not require any additional drivers for Snow Leopard to work, so I can't download new drivers and try them.
X2222 mixer itself works great and can really crank the volume through my powered speakers and monitor, as long as I give it a good input source. Input coming to board over USB cable from MBPro just doesn't have enough juice to cut it.
Have tried all different combinations of settings inside System Preferences -> Sound. Set Input and Output both to highest settings in Sys Pref as well as within GarageBand and no change.
Any suggestions would be helpful. If you need clarification on what my set up is, just ask.
Cheers.
