Charging using the car Aux port

I have been using my Nano G5 with my car's aux. port and an audio cable and decided I would like to purchase a car charger. Is it possible to listen to the nano while charging at the same time?? It seems that the jack outlets are too close together to have both the audio cable plugged in at the same time as the car charger?
