My phone is frozen with the apple logo on the black screen. I have tried all the suggestions previously posted about holding the button while plugging in the USB...nothing works. It's FROZEN!! Can anyone help? I'm getting desperate.
If you read the many posts about this, it takes more than just pressing the home button when plugged into iTunes. Did you do a reset - press both home and sleep/wake buttons until the Apple logo appears?
Recovery mode:
1. Start iTunes.
2. Plug USB end of cable into a USB port in the back of your computer, not an external hub or keyboard port. Plug phone port end directly into the phone without using a dock.
3. Press BOTH the home and sleep/wake buttons until the Apple logo reappears, then continue pressing the home button alone until iTunes sees the phone in recovery mode.
4. Follow the prompts to restore.
If the phone doesn't respond to any of this, there is either a hardware problem or you have hacked firmware installed. In either case your only solution is replacement.
Yes, I did try to restart, etc. I should have been more detailed in my post. I tried several times with all of the solutions I saw posted. Thank you for your response. I guess I'll have to take it in.
I have an Iphone and When I press sleep/wake button the Apple logo turn on but the bachground is black and it stays like that for long time. Then when I press sleep/wake button and Home button at the same time for 10 seconds , it will turn off Iphone, it means Apple logo is disappear. I could not get it to Home Screen. Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks
APU
I'm not clear what you're doing. Press BOTH the home and sleep wake buttons (for at least 10 seconds) until the Apple logo appears on a black back ground.
When you do this, the phone first shuts off. Ignore the red slider if it appears. Once the Apple logo appears, it can take some time for the phone to restart.
Great... what if if doesn`t show the Apple logo? It is as if the phone was dead at no charge. I tried a power outlet and many different cables...
I really don`t wanna send it to apple, spcially because I live in Brazil and got my phone legally in the US... I don`t think my carrier will want to replace me phone...
My iPhone did this to me today. I shut down as usual and turned the phone back on, but it froze on the apple logo screen during startup. I tried holding down the power button, no luck. I tried holding both the home button and power button, no luck. I tried over and over again. Then I tried holding down the home button, power button, and the volume bar, and it turned off! I was then able to attempt start up again and was successful.
