Mail opens then immediately closes

I've got the same problem. Have tried holding home/lock buttons, but still have the problem. Any other suggestions?

Yep, I do have other suggestions. Are you using Microsoft Exchange?

If so, remove all of the folders under your inbox and move them to the top level mailbox. Do this in Outlook. See if the app still crashes after the move.

I have had this problem several times - always when I have a "Delivery Status Notification (Failure) on any of my email accounts. The only way that I have found to fix is to delete the account, then delete the "...(Failure)" message from the server and then recreate the account that has caused the problem.

I have years of email organized into folders (Security policy won't let me make PSTs) are you saying I have to toss all that organization away in order to fix this issue? Or do I just delete the emails? Why doesn't it just work? Isn't that why we love apple?

If you manage to delete the Email that bounces back (the rejected email) from the pc and Iphone, delete your account from the Iphone, then reinstate the account and your folders will still be on the pc .

Hold BOTH the HOME and LOCK buttons and DO NOT let go when it says slide to unlock, just keep holding until you see the Apple Logo.

I have the same problem, i open the mail then it crashes, I've done 2 reboots and a full restore, no change.

Thanks , that did the trick ,phone now working fine,that was the problem , it was a rejected email bounced back, done what you said and as ah say phone back to normal. Thanks again
