* In the iPad management screen, click the "Photos" tab at the top.
* Check the "Sync Photos" box at the top.
* From the drop-down menu next to that, select the program or folder that contains your photo library.
* Depending on what program you use, you'll have different options. These may include syncing individual galleries or your entire photo album.
* If you're syncing a folder of images, you can navigate through your hard drive to find the correct folder and then sync that entire folder or just select subfolders in it.
* Once all your settings are correct, click the "Apply" button at the bottom right corner of the iTunes window to sync again and add photos to your iPad.
* Photos will consume space on your iPad, so keep that in mind as you select between syncing all photos and individual albums and videos.
I have tried that and unfortunately I'm having the same problem reported elsewhere that syncing takes forever - syncing even one folder never finishes - even with only a few images in it.
When using the iPhoto program on my Mac-Mini (power PC) to copy photos and albums to the iPad I too get the same warning about not being able to 'play "PICT3845.JPG" on this iPad'. But if I plug the camera SD card directly into the iPad and bypass iPhoto the iPad will import all the photo's, from the card, and display them without issue. Is it the filename that's causing the problem? And if that's the case how do I modify the filename in iPhoto?
Not sure if the file name is causing this problem, but to change the name of a photo in iPhoto, select the photo and use get info - select the "i" icon on the photo when the photo is selected.
