I was just going through my RSS feed when my trackpad stopped depressing or making a click sound. It still responds to touch sensitivity, but it's very annoying with no physical clicking? according to Whatpulse, i have about 220k clicks since the february of this year, plus the clicks from when i got my macbook pro last september, so probably around 400k clicks total. is that a lot of wear on the trackpad which would cause this? i've tried restarting and such, but it seems as if this is definitely a hardware issue.
on a side note, when it first happened it wouldn't depress at all, and i could not execute the pinch gestures. there is now some depression, and a very faint click sound, but not nearly what it used to be.

I've been having a similar problem with my macbook was working fine yesterday morning then logic went crazy and crashed so rebooted the computer and when i went to click on anything it just wouldn't work I've managed to get it to work with a mouse now but it is still very unstable and doesn't always want to work got an appointment at apple tomorrow so hoping they will be able to be able to fix it on the spot or just replace the computer as I've only had it since december and this couldn't of happened at a worse time as i have two weeks to complete my course work in so need to get this sorted fast
