My Apple TV remote was used to program my universal. It works fine to control the Apple TV, but the problem is also controls my iMac which is around the corner in the den (good range on the remote!). Apparently they operate on the same frequency and I'm wondering how to create a unique channel/frequency for the Apple TV. Thanks.

The Apple remote uses IR, not RF. If your iMac is around the corner, it's probably picking up the IR burst reflecting off of something in the room. You can either change its position, pair it with another Apple remote so that it will only respond to that one, or turn off the iMac's IR sensor in the Security settings in the Preferences panel.
