Quicktime 10 Save for Web Not Exporting Video

Hi there.

I have a .mp4 video that I am trying to 'Save for Web' but when I do the resulting .m4v has a white screen (no video) with the audio playing. The html file sometimes shows the thumbnail and sometimes doesn't, and when it is played it does the same thing.

The export for computer only takes 4 minutes, so it's clearly not exporting video.

Can anyone help?

I'm having a similar problem, but it's with an m4v source file. When I select Save for Web, the export process occurs but the folder containing all of the files only contains the poster frame jpg, the 3gp video, and the .mov resource video at 4k. The iPhone WiFi optimized and Computer optimized videos are not present. Upon share to MobileMe gallery, I get an error stating that a resource is missing.

Turns out my problem was with chapter markers. Once removed from the original video, the Save for Web option worked fine.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried it but to no avail.

I used Adobe Premiere Pro to edit and export this video and a friend told me that I am unable to 'Save for Web' in Quicktime 7 because of an incompatibility between Adobe and Apple. Is this true? It seems odd since h.264 is a standard codec online now.

I´m having this exact same problem and I´m pretty sure I had already converted several home videos a couple of months ago. Right now I´m trying to "save as web" a few 50 - 80MB family videos to iPhone so my kids can watch themselves in their ipod touches but I only get 3MB files with audio only and a white background.

Same here. When I "Save for web" Premiere Pro H.264 movies in Quicktime I get a white screen audio only video.

Exact the same problem here on my win 7 pc, with an export for web. I tried everything... reinstallation of quicktime, a downgrade to v7.3.1, a total reinstallation with manual removing the registry files and deep config files, an other pc (windows xp pro) a downgrade on the windows xp pc. and so on...Unfortunately without succes.

The strange thing is that I exported the same mp4 movie before without any problems.

Does anybody have a working solution?

The only solution I found - worked fine for my needs- was re-exporting my Premiere Pro project in a .mov container. I then used Quicktime to "save for web" with no problems.
