Mapping a network drive

Drive I need to map to is Ubuntu/Windows based, works fine with Windows 7 on boot camp. Just wondering if I will be able to access this drive on OS X. The address for the drive is in the form \\stuff.morestuff.blahblah.such\sharename

I've tried mapping it directly through Finder, no such luck. Any help would be great and much appreciated!

What happens if you type:
smb://stuff.morestuff.blahblah.such/sharename
in our browser address bar?

I believe I have used a similar technique to access samba/windows shares from my Mac in the past.

I will have to try that once I'm back at the lab, but I feel I need to note that the slashes are actually backslashes \ on our network address. Not sure if that's a huge difference, can't really recall, but I do know that on a Windows machine "map network drive" that's the way it must be entered. I guess what I'm trying to say is will it make a difference in the browser?

Click onto the desktop then do the keyboard combination command button+k. In the put the address and connect. Once you can connect you can mount that share and once it is mounted go to System Preferences->Accounts, Login Items tab and click on the + sign to add the share in when a user logs into that account.

GeekBoy.from.Illinois has it correct. When accessing a Windows/Linux share from a Mac, you would enter: smb://hostipaddress/sharename in the "Connect to Server" Server address window, and then, click on the Connect button. The forward slash is the correct convention in this case.

Yes, well it's a network share at work. Requires login and such.
