Q: I moved country, changed iTunes stores and now my Apps can't be updated!?

Hi,

I know about how to change country etc for purchases in iTunes, this isn't about that.

I had a UK iTunes account and bought apps there.
I've now moved to Australia and changed my iTunes account to Australia using an Australian credit card, and I've bought some apps here.

iTunes is telling me that I have a bunch of Apps I can update, though when I go to update them it says there's none available.

I've gone to the UK iTunes Store and clicked update, and there they are - but they won't download as I need to change my billing info again.

So, here's the question - is iTunes actually that limited that one account can only have one credit card linked to it?

I live permanently in Australia now, but have purchased over 100 Apps while in the UK... am I right in saying that every time I want to update an app I have to fill out all my UK credit card and billing information, update, then fill in all my Australian billing details again when I want to switch back to the Australian store... over and over again for the rest of my life!?

I understand some Apps won't be available in one country VS the other, that's not the problem here. This is with worldwide available apps - I can see the apps in the Australian store, but because I've bought them in UK I can't update them in Australia.

    Hello!

I lived in Belgium and I moved myself to Brazil. I switched to new Brazilian iTunes Store and I was able to redownload the paid apps, so Apple recognised I have already purchased them in old country.

But some Belgian and French ebooks and films aren't available in Brazilian iTunes Store. If I remove my Brazilian credit card from iTunes Store Brazil and switch back again to Belgian iTunes Store for restoring few Belgian ebooks and films and returning again to the Brazilian iTunes Store?

But if I want to keep remaining in the Belgian iTunes Store, can I purchase the Belgian iTunes gift cards with Brazilian credit card from Apple Store site?

Thank you for your attention and help!

It's why I'll leave Apple and sell all my Apple devices. Apple is the worst company I've already seen. Goodbye, Apple!

Please, keep laughing. You love laughing at poor customers.

Yes, in case of iTunes Store. Apple is very unfriendly with the customer in case of App Store. I can redownload the apps in new store, but I can't redownload the ebooks and the films if I switch again to Belgian store while I'm not in Belgium because it can terminate my account. It's one of the most disgusting, stupid, insane and sick things Apple does with the customers.

It's not Apple's fault. It's my fault for not making a backup of ebooks and films and for not keeping separated IDs — one for Brazilian iTunes Store and other for Belgian iTunes Store.

You are not my customer. I'm not an Apple employee...

These kind of comments really make me laugh.

    Hi,

Okay, I've contacted Apple support, there is a way to solve this. Here is my situation. I've moved from the UK (Where I studied)  to Singapore (Where I reside), I've devised a way to rectify this issue.

For me, it was changing from Singapore store to the UK Store(Where I made most of my purchases).

When changing store in iTunes, select "None" in the payment section, then proceed with a billing address(I used my previous address in the UK).

You should be able to change store, from there, you would have to go to "Purchased" and then re-download all your purchases onto your PC.

From there you should be able to transfer your purchase to any of your iOS devices.

NOTE: It is optional to switch back to the store of your current residing country to be able to key in a payment method for your local store, this would allow you to purchase again from the iTunes store country.

    Hope this helps

Question: can you leave reviews for the apps purchased from the UK whilst using the Singaporean Store?

This is currently my biggest gripe. I have changed 3 different stores and I can't leave reviews to apps that I have downloaded from Store Country A, whilst using Store Country C. You can't leave reviews and receive automated download on iTunes (on iOS App Store you get automated downloaded regardless of purchase origin) for apps that are purchased outside your current store.

I wish Apple would change this and make it so that your purchase history is account dependent rather than country store dependent.

Yes you do need to change your credit card and home address, that's what I do whn I need something from Italian store living in Australia. But you don't need to to that too ofte, do you? Most apps are available worldwide. Only those made for example for german users only, might be available only there. Download them and that's it. There's no other solution and I don't think Apple is gonna change it.
